Snoddon Faces a New Challenger: Title Shot on the Line!

January 10, 2024

Belfast's WKN world kickboxing Champion, Jay Snoddon, is facing an exciting new opponent and title challenge. Originally set to defend his WKN K1world title against the formidable 20-year-old powerhouse, Vladyslav Horodyskyi from Ukraine, the unfortunate news is that Horodyskyi is unable to participate due to his commitment to the ongoing war effort in his homeland. However, in a positive turn of events, the Ukrainian Kickboxing organisation has selected David Tkachuk, the WKAO world Champion from the same country, as Horodyskyi's replacement. This world championship will be contested under WKN Low-kick free/style rules not the K1-style

David Tkachuk's team expresses confidence in their replacement's ability to defeat Snoddon. However, the match will not be held under K1 rules, as requested by the Ukrainian team. Instead, they will compete for the vacant WKN free/style low kick world title.

The WKN wasted no time in approving the title match. Snoddon, a reigning WKN world champion, and Tkachuk, a current world champion under WAKO, will face off. Mr. Cabrera commented, "It's logical for two champions from different organisations to meet; this promises to be an exciting showdown. We have no doubt that both fighters will bring their A-game."

The upcoming match has already sparked excitement within the kickboxing community. Fans eagerly await to see Snoddon and Tkachuk in action, with predictions being made on who will come out victorious.

"We were disappointed to learn that Vladyslav Horodyskyi couldn't make it to Belfast due to complications arising from the war in Ukraine. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to him and his family during this challenging time. Additionally, Jay was scheduled to defend his WKN title for the final time before transitioning into the professional realm. This situation presents a unique opportunity for us - he will retire undefeated as the WKN Featherweight Pro-Am K1 champion, possibly even securing another prestigious Kickboxing world title."
