The Belfast Samurai Secures Third-Round Stoppage in Cork
October 10, 2026
Jay “The Belfast Samurai” Snoddon delivered another commanding performance in Cork, stopping Tadhg English in the third round of their professional K-1 contest. Some may have viewed Snoddon as the underdog. The ProKick fighter stepped up to compete at almost 68kg - well above his 64kg championship weight - tipping the scales at 67.5kg, with English weighing 67.6kg.
Jay Lands a right hook in a commanding performance in Cork, stopping Tadhg English in the third round
Snoddon began strongly, applying his trademark pressure throughout the opening round with sharp boxing and powerful low kicks.
The Belfast fighter increased the pace in round two, unloading fast combinations and dropping English twice.
Snoddon continued his relentless attack in the third round, forcing the referee to administer a standing eight-count. With English under sustained pressure and Jay continuing to fire punches and kicks, the referee had seen enough and stopped the contest.
Winner by third-round stoppage: Jay “The Belfast Samurai” Snoddon.
European Championship Trilogy Awaits
There will be little time to celebrate as Snoddon’s focus now turns to 21 November in Alès, France.
Jay will face Jordan Cocu for the third time, with the WKN Professional European K-1 Championship on the line.
The rivalry is tied at one victory each. This is more than a championship fight - it is the trilogy that will finally settle the score.
ProKick would like to thank everyone in Belfast who helped with Jay’s preparation, Jordan Belshaw for travelling with the team, cameraman Mark Earney and everyone who tuned in to watch the fight live.
The Belfast Samurai marches on.
