Blistering winds that battered parts of the country couldn’t keep the New Beginners away from the ProKick Gym Belfast this morning February 9th 2020. ProKick was the venue for an action-packed Sunday morning, ProKick grading day.Today the Gym was inundated with kickboxers from our adult membership, right up to the young age of 60+ - all searching for excellence in the Sport of ProKick's style of kickboxing.
The grading saw Kickboxing mad students go through the ProKick exams with a series of tests covering different aspects from the sport which helped elevate them to the next level. Today members covered belts from only the Yellow and Orange belt levels. A big thanks to senior members Kathryn Warren for her assistance at the grading days all part of her black belt training in the future.
A grading is when Kickboxing students, non-contact and contact, are assessed through a series of levels / grades, with the base level being White Belt, through ten levels, finally reaching a Dan grade at black belt, which is equivalent, if you like, to a degree level in KickBoxing. This type of achievement would take, on average, between six and eight years with a training regime of on average of three to four times a week.
