ProKick Touches Down in Cyprus for Major WKN International Event
March 05, 2026
Despite escalating conflict and tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean affecting Cyprus, including an attack on an RAF base, the ProKick team remained undeterred. The ProKick team has arrived in Cyprus ahead of a major World Kickboxing Network international event taking place this Saturday, 7th March. Three athletes from Belfast will step onto the global stage representing ProKick under the promotion of long-time collaborator Chris Christodoulou.

ProKick Team Press On Despite Rising Tensions in Cyprus
In a world currently facing growing uncertainty, with conflicts affecting several regions, even the Mediterranean island of Cyprus has recently felt the ripple effects of international tensions. News broke earlier this week of a drone strike targeting the British military installation at RAF Akrotiri — one of the United Kingdom’s most strategically important overseas bases.
While the attack raised security concerns across the island, authorities confirmed that the situation was quickly contained and no casualties were reported. The incident served as a reminder that global tensions can reach far beyond traditional conflict zones.
Yet even in uncertain times, sport continues to unite people — and commitments made in sport are rarely broken.
For the team from Belfast’s ProKick Gym Belfast, honouring commitments is part of the culture.
Led by renowned coach and promoter Billy Murray, the ProKick team has arrived in Cyprus ahead of a major international event sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Network. The event is promoted by long-time ProKick collaborator and Cyprus fight promoter Chris Christodoulou, a respected figure in the international kickboxing community who has hosted many world-class events on the island.
Despite the heightened security atmosphere, the ProKick team remained focused on their mission — representing Belfast and the ProKick ethos on the international stage.
Belfast Fighters Ready for International Action
Heading the Belfast contingent is the dynamic Jay Snoddon. Snoddon arrives in Cyprus riding a wave of momentum after an impressive unanimous decision victory over former world champion Liam Alford at Champions Fight League #16 in Belfast only two weeks ago.
Rather than taking time off after such a demanding contest, Snoddon returned straight to training camp — a testament to the discipline and work ethic instilled within the ProKick system. Known for his speed, ring intelligence and relentless pace, the fighter dubbed “The Belfast Samurai” now prepares to face a skilled Thai boxing specialist in what promises to be a high-level international contest.
Also representing ProKick is the determined Grace Goody, one of the gym’s most respected female competitors. Grace enters the bout knowing that a strong performance could push her firmly back into title contention within her division.
Throughout her career, Goody has built a reputation for grit and composure under pressure. Competing on the international stage once again offers her the opportunity to demonstrate the level of skill and determination that has made her one of the standout athletes in the ProKick ranks.
Completing the Belfast trio is rising young talent Reuben Graham. At just sixteen years of age, Graham is already gaining valuable experience fighting abroad. The young fighter recently secured an impressive first-round stoppage victory at Champions Fight League #16, further confirming his potential as one of ProKick’s next generation of competitors.
For Graham, returning to Cyprus is familiar territory after previously competing on the island, and the experience of fighting internationally at such a young age is invaluable for his development.
Focus Remains on Sport
Although the wider world may be facing uncertainty, inside the ring the focus remains unchanged. Discipline, preparation and respect are the core principles that underpin the ProKick philosophy.
Coach Billy Murray has long emphasised that sport has the power to rise above political or global tensions, bringing athletes from different nations together through competition and mutual respect.
For Murray and his fighters, the goal is simple: represent their gym, their city and their supporters with pride.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding them, the ProKick team continues to operate by a code that has defined the organisation for decades.
Commitment.
Preparation.
Respect.
And above all — the ProKick way.
