Official Weigh-in for Cyprus WKN International Event

March 06, 2026

At the official weigh-in for tomorrow night’s WKN International Championship Kickboxing event at a five-star resort in Paphos, Cyprus, all three Belfast athletes made weight — calm, focused and ready for battle. First to the scales was Jay “The Belfast Samurai” Snoddon, who comfortably made the limit for his professional clash with Thai boxing specialist Gabriel Lacovou who came in heavier at 64.3kg. The two fighters exchanged respectful nods during the face-off, but both know that courtesy ends the moment the bell rings. Tomorrow night they meet again — this time in the semi-main event, where skill, pride and reputation will be on the line.

Next up was 16-year-old ProKick sensation Reuben Graham, returning to Cyprus after already leaving his mark here last year. Reuben tipped the scales slightly lighter than his opponent, Cypriot fighter Demitriou, who came in at 58.3kg — just 0.8kg heavier than the Belfast teenager.

Coach Billy Murray remains quietly confident.

“Reuben trains extremely hard,” Murray said. “He’s coming here full of confidence after his stoppage win just a couple of weeks ago. Performances like that give a young fighter momentum — and I’m expecting good things from him here in Cyprus.”

The final ProKick athlete to step onto the scales was the ever-dangerous Grace “The Smiling Assassin” Goody.

Despite her nickname, there were very few smiles during the final days leading into the weigh-in. Grace had a difficult weight cut and her coach admitted there were moments of concern she might not make the limit.

But champions find a way.

When the scales settled, both fighters registered exactly 56.7kg, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rematch against Cyprus’s Fragki — a rivalry that began last year in Nicosia when Grace edged a close contest. Since that night, Fragki has been waiting for another chance.

Now she has it.

With the hard work done and the scales behind them, the ProKick team stepped away from the intensity of the weigh-ins to refuel together at the famous Duomo restaurant in Paphos — a brief moment of calm before tomorrow night’s storm.

Both fighters made weight at 56.7kg for their highly anticipated rematch. The rivalry began last year when Grace narrowly defeated Fragki, who has been eager for another chance ever since.

Billy Murray and the team also expressed their appreciation to long-time friend and promoter Chris Christodoulou, whose hospitality and commitment to international kickboxing continues to bring the sport to the global stage.

For Murray, the journey to Cyprus is nothing new. For over 25 years, he has travelled back and forth to compete on Christodoulou’s shows.

But every trip brings a new story and new memories.

And tomorrow night in Cyprus…another chapter of the ProKick story will be written.
