Official Urban Villages Launch of ProKick Gym

October 17, 2022

The official Urban Villages launch of the new ProKick gym took place on, Monday 17th October 2022. The event kicked off with a whistle stop tour of the inspiring history of ProKick from Billy Murray, however, now with a brand new state of the art gym, the message was clear; what has been achieved by ProKick in the sport of kickboxing is incredible, but looking forward the possibilities are endless and the future is very bright. The event was hosted by Julia Harkness, Local Coordinator, Urban Villages and ProKick's lynch-pin, Billy Murray.

Mr Gareth Johnston, from TEO, office of Good Relations highlighted the importance of the work ProKick does in providing a safe, welcoming environment for people from all backgrounds regardless of religion, race, gender, sexuality or ethnicity. He recognised the benefits for physical and mental health that ProKick offers the local community along with the ethos of truth, discipline and respect that underpins everything that takes place under the ProKick banner. The Belfast City council were also throwing their weight behind the project as the Chief Executive himself, Mr John Walsh was present.

It was then that the stylish black ribbon was cut across the ring to officially launch the completed project. Over 5 years in the making, a massive amount of work from countless different people, organisations and companies has culminated in an iconic, state of the art kickboxing centre of excellence in the heart of East Belfast. All of the hard work has paid off.

A massive thanks to Julia Harkness & Kathy Anjorin for all the help in setting the launch up at our new premisses. You guys need a raise in salaries!
By-the-way, I'll call you don't call me. :-)
