Day 5 – ProKick Black Belt Gradings
December 19, 2025
It was back to the drawing board with a 6:30am start for Day 5 of the ProKick Black Belt gradings. The morning began with the Extreme Fitness Test — an intense, uncompromising assessment that separates preparation from excuses. For some, it’s a moment to show lungs of steel; for others, it’s a harsh wake-up call.
Day 5: Beginner Sparring Session – Friday, December 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM
Three candidates picked up minor strikes as their fitness levels fell below the required standard:
- Mark
- Ethan
- Gerard
The positive? They’ll get another opportunity on Saturday afternoon. Nothing is given — everything must be earned.
6:00pm – Beginner Sparring
This session was disappointing overall in terms of intent and sharpness.
One exception stood out clearly: Reuben Graham, who shone brightly with composure, effort, and control.
7:00pm – Advanced Pads Class
A mixed session with clear messages delivered:
- Mark — still too static on the pads; not enough movement.
- Ethan — looked laboured; fatigue showing.
- Garard— struggled but staying positive.
- Leo — moving well, good flow and balance.
- Reuben — sharp, purposeful, strong movement again.
- Jay— a league on his own.
- Max— in the zone.
A firm reminder was issued to some of the team:
Stop watching the clock.
Yes, it’s been a tough week — but Saturday will be the hardest day of all.
Rest, recovery, and mental preparation are now non-negotiable.
This accolade is not handed out because you’ve “done the time.”
You earn it — and only then will you truly respect it.
Friday 19th complete.
Clean up. Home.
Replenish. Rest. Repeat.
Saturday Morning
🕘 Be ready for 9:00am sharp.
And no — it’s not physical… 👀
