Day 3 – ProKick Black Belt Gradings

December 17, 2025

The Super Seven were back in the gym early, kicking off Day 3 at 6:30am on Wednesday 17th December. The morning began calmly with a breathing and meditation session, setting the mindset for the demanding day ahead. This was followed by evasion techniques and a touch of ring-craft, before moving into preparation for the evening’s circle training. The morning session remained light contact, but focused and technical.

Black Belt Grading Day 3. 17th Dec 2025: Circle training

Black Belt Grading Day 3:
Circle training involves being attacked by multiple opponents and is designed to develop conditioning, composure, and all-round awareness—especially when threats come from different angles.

This brought the early-bird Wednesday session to a close.

Strikes Issued – Morning Session

Three candidates picked up strikes this morning:

Leo – No tracksuit top

Max – Forgot head guard

Mark – Wearing the wrong colours (light grey shorts instead of ProKick black)

More effort required, That’s your third minor strike Leo.

6:00pm – Pads Class (Candidate-Led Session)

The candidates took full control of the pads class, delivering the entire session.

Strikes Issued – Evening Session
The class began with basic practice for Yellow and Orange Belt levels. During shadowboxing, three candidates failed to demonstrate correct etiquette, resulting in strikes for:

Reuben

Ethan

Mark

On top of this, the exercise burpees were added.

More effort required, That’s your second minor strike Mark.

Each candidate then received a clear brief on Focus Pads training, covering what is expected when holding pads and working effectively with a partner—an essential coaching skill within ProKick.

7:00pm – Fighters Class / 8:00pm Intermediate Sparring (Merged Session)

The 7pm Fighters Class was merged with the 8pm Intermediate Sparring Class, raising the intensity significantly.

First up was Mark Cairnduff, who completed 5 x 2-minute rounds, facing a fresh opponent every minute.

Between rounds, there was no rest—straight into sit-ups during the one-minute breaks.

The sparring element ran non-stop for 45 minutes.

8:00pm – Circle Training
Circle training is a core part of the ProKick syllabus, reserved primarily for adult and senior-level students due to its physical and mental demands.

Each candidate faced multiple attackers, defending themselves using strikes, variations of technique, and self-defence skills. This took place both in the ring and on the mats.

Every member of the team had the opportunity to show they are capable—and worthy—of progressing toward Black Belt level.
Well done, Team. We will revisit this again on Saturday.

Eat well. Sleep well. We go again tomorrow — Thursday 👊🥋
