Billy Murray Named Founding Ambassador for Ulster Sports Legacy

"Being chosen as a Founding Ambassador for the Ulster Sports Legacy is both a humbling and deeply honoring experience," Billy shared. "To have over 50 years in martial arts and kickboxing recognised in this way means the world to me. From my first amateur title win in 1982 to my final professional fight in 2006, it has been an incredible journey — one that saw me claim an amateur World Championship, two European professional titles, and four World titles across four different weight divisions."

"Last year, Ulster University honoured me with a doctorate for my contributions to the sport - an achievement that left me truly humbled. Being invited to serve as a Founding Ambassador for the Ulster Sports Legacy means just as much to me, and I'm proud to share this recognition with everyone at ProKick."

Founded by Amanda Jones FCA alongside fellow directors Lady Mary Peters and Dr. Nigel Carr, MBE, Ulster Sports Legacy aims to celebrate Ulster’s sporting history through stories, exhibitions and community activities.
