As they say in Scotland, it was a bonnie day for the ProKick team at the inaugural WKN British Open championships. Weigh-ins and registrations began for the competitors at 9am, a run-through of rules from event organisers, Mr Ross & Mr Weir, with the final words from head official Mr Bob Hunter which left nothing else but for the action to begin. The #WKN competition took place across three different matted areas and there was always a ProKicker giving their all on one, or at times, two of the areas throughout the day. Some might argue that Billy Murray and Johnny Smith worked the hardest today, ensuring that every ProKicker fighter was ready and had a coach with them in their corner when their name was called. However, special mention has to go to the faithful family and friends who came to support and made sure that every ProKicker was cheered for from start to finish. Even though we were away from home, it certainly didn’t sound like it at times!

The ProKick team threw themselves into the competition, signing up for as many different categories as their age and weight classes would allow. Like any Open competition this is as much about experience as anything else and for everyone that took part they can certainly say they came home with an invaluable amount of that.

There are plenty of tired ProKickers in Fraserburgh tonight, but there also plenty of medals and plenty of smiles.
