New Belters homeward bound

Exciting news! Yesterday, Saturday, September 21st, 2024, the ProKick Gym proudly lifted four new European championship belts in Germany at the WKN European Open in Berlin. First to get a mention is Grace Goody as the Lisburn battler lifted the Bantamweight title adding this crown to her K1 All-Japan crown she won in 2020. Dan Braniff adds the super-welterweight European to his Irish title. Following in his brothers footsteps James, the current Middleweight Pro-Am European champion, keeping it in the family. In a thrilling showdown, ProKick members Gary Lynch and Jonny Shaw both lifted joint Gold after battling through elimination rounds, only to discover they’d be facing each other in the final. Under the guidance of head coach Billy Murray, an unexpected twist unfolded. Determined to foster camaraderie over rivalry, he coordinated with the WKN, the sanctioning body overseeing the championships, to ensure that his two young fighters would share the glory of victory. What a remarkable demonstration of sportsmanship!
Three other young ProKick fighters reached the finals but narrowly missed out on victory. Max Murray, Rueben Graham, and Ryan Williams came incredibly close to becoming WKN European K1 kickboxing champions. At just 14, 15, and 16 years old, respectively, they have bright futures in the sport. With dedication, hard work, and consistent training, their time to shine will surely come!
The rest of the team put forth an incredible effort, with some stepping into the ring for the very first time at a prestigious international event in vibrant Berlin, Germany! The excitement and nerves were evident as they showcased their talent on such a grand stage.
