Billy Murray stated “If there is any upside to this situation, it’s that there still is a fight happening and an opponent has been found. In the fight game, this is an eventuality that can happen. In fact, I remember back in 1989, I was due to defend my ISKA title against a fighter from France at the Ulster Hall, but he injured himself the day before he was to travel to Belfast. I’ll never forget having to stand outside the Ulster Hall and let people know that there was no fight. Thank you to WKN and the promoter for getting a last minute opponent and to Abdullah for taking the fight. To Germany we are here with the belt, and we intend to go home again with it.”
